Some Meelup Long Boat stats for those who keep score...
Jan. 2012 - 3 hours 55 minutes one way in bumpy, windy conditions
Dec. 2012 - 3 hours 7 minutes to Meelup, 2 hours 33 minutes home (our fastest crossing)
Jan. 2014 - 2:37 over, 2:57 back.
Dec. 2014 - 2:45 over, 2:40 back.
Nov. 2015 - 2:50 over, 2:45 back.
Jan. 2017 - 2:37 over, 2:47 back.
January 2017 - Crew 1 launched for Meelup just after sunrise at 5:30 and crew 2 had Hihimanu back on the beach in front of the Yacht Club at 11:00 - 50 kms in 5 hours and 30 minutes and approximately 9000 paddle strokes per paddler. The conditions were almost ideal, the hamburgers and cold beer afterwards - magnificent.
