Yet another classic Geographe Bay paddling day with five clubs, twelve OC-6's and seventy-two paddlers on the water. Beautifully orchestrated, the day ran like a well oiled machine - after a somber moment of Christchurch reflection, Bill welcomed crews, briefed the first race and we were on the water...
Most races were hard fought contests with mere seconds separating the finishers (it wasn't just the finish that was hard fought, most of the crews paddled the distance within metres of the boats they were chasing, or following).
It was a day full of good friends, renewed acquaintances, an absolutely magnificent ocean, wonderful colours, perfect paddling conditions (challenging offshore, peaceful and composed closer in), particularly excellent food, some young 'uns and some not so much, and a total celebration of fitness and being active.
Meet us for training on the calm waters of Geographe Bay from October to April.
