Bunbury Geographe Coast Long Boat 2018

We left Busselton at 5 AM and paddled out of Bunbury at 6:20, mainly thanks to Bill and Anita who trailered the outrigger to Bunbury, drove our two vehicles back to Busselton, shuttled a crew to Forrest Beach, paddled the third leg back to the Yacht Club and then helped with the BBQ. :)

Three crews, 16 dedicated paddlers, 6 hours and 20 minutes paddling time, many dolphins, one "suspected"shark, a plethora of sting ray, sometimes cooperative wind and occasionally cooperative swell, some absolutely astounding ocean, blue skies and white sands.

We paddled three legs - from Bunbury to Minninup Beach (22 kms in 2 hours 30 minutes), from Minninup to Forrest Beach (17 kms in 2 hours) and Forrest Beach to GBYC (15 kms in 1 hour 40 minutes).

Diane managed to climb into the outrigger from BOTH sides at once...

...but didn't miss a stroke in getting under way

As well as the usual paddling pics, we encountered some stunningly classic, amazingly beautiful, truly and uniquely Western Australian scenery as we paddled down the coast...
